About the Business
I started plastering aged 15 in the school summer holidays; labouring for the lads mixing up, cleaning out etc. A year later straight from school I got an apprentership with Mcqueens and started one day a week at Leicester College after completing my two years NVQ 1/2 Ii became a confident plasterer and slowly started getting my own work for evenings and weekends. Once I hit 20 I set up on my own working for the public and also small and large builders (Parker Builders, Roland Hill, Porterhouse, Church & Newman and Clayson Country Homes to name a few). I am a modern day plasterer mainly plasterboarding and skimming from day to day but am lucky that was taught by the older generation of plastering from float and set (tough coat) to old heritage work (lime plaster with goats hair) and can carry out all external render finishes from sand and cement (smooth) pebble dashes, Tirilenne and Molucoche.
